UNIVERSAL LADDER OF SOUND

This drawing illustrates the principal of the tones used in
relative pitch being located on what may be called a harmonic diagonal.
Since each note is made up of a multiple of either two or three, the contracting
side would be the lesser 2, and the expanding would be the 3... Therefore
triangles were constructed having one side a multiple of two and the other side
a multiple of three. The notes marked by the small colored lines on each module,
then were found to be divided roughly into an octave on each module. (Seven
notes). Starting with C, each module becomes a circle of fifths (every
fifth note on the diatonic scale). These are called the field of C, the
field of G, etc. In this model only five of the fields are shown. The score for
